With its experienced and strong economy in sectors like automotive, energy, porcelain, crystal, and machinery, the Czech Republic offers significant opportunities for cooperation in renewable energy with Turkey.
Due to Turkey's strengthened and stable economy, Czech companies are increasingly interested in expanding their business and investments in Turkey.
According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Turkey achieved its highest-ever January-May exports to the Czech Republic, totaling $683.7 million.
Turkey's exports to the Czech Republic increased by 1.7% in the first five months of the year compared to the same period last year.
Automotive Industry Leads in Exports
The automotive industry led Turkey's exports to the Czech Republic with $185.3 million.
It was followed by iron and non-iron metals with $92.7 million, chemicals and chemical products with $77.2 million, electronics and electrical equipment with $63.8 million, and ready-made garments and clothing with $47.1 million.
The sectors with the least demand included ornamental plants and products with $21,000, tobacco with $121,000, fishery products and animal products with $624,000, dried fruits and products with $1,012,000, and yacht and services with $1,334,000.
Automotive Industry Leads in Export Value Increase
During the January-May period, the automotive industry also led in terms of value increase in exports to the Czech Republic, with an additional $27.7 million.
Following the automotive industry were electronics and electrical equipment with $13.8 million, cereals, pulses, oilseeds, and products with $9 million, chemicals and chemical products with $4.4 million, and machinery and components with $2.3 million.
Looking at exports by region, Istanbul led with exports worth $328.8 million to the Czech Republic. Izmir followed with $56.5 million, Bursa with $52.1 million, Sakarya with $47.6 million, and Kocaeli with $47 million worth of exports.
