Fruit juice exports are aimed to exceed 500 million dollars

Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association President Hayrettin Ucak said that Turkey aims to exceed 500 million dollars in fruit juice exports this year.

In his written statement, Ucak noted that 27 million tons of fruit are produced in Turkey, and 10 percent of the annual fruit production is processed by the fruit juice industry.

Stating that 74 million dollars worth of fruit juice was exported in the January-February period last year, Yumurta stated that exports increased by 27 percent to 94 million dollars in the first two months of 2024.

Ucak stated that there is a predominantly consumption of peach, apricot, sour cherry and orange juices in the domestic market and said:

"Half of Turkey's concentrate (semi-finished product) exports come from apple juice concentrate. In exports, pomegranate and black carrot concentrate are among Turkey's highly competitive products. Our fruit juice sector has the potential to grow both in exports and in the domestic market. The sector's growth potential is in 2024. "The export target is to exceed 500 million dollars. We predict that Turkey's foreign exchange earnings from fruit juice exports will reach 1 billion dollars in 2028."

In Turkey's fruit juice exports of 452 million dollars in 2023, the USA was the leading market with exports of 196 million dollars. The Netherlands came in second with a demand of 36.5 million dollars, and Italy came in third with fruit juice exports of 22 million dollars.
