Automotive exports to 137 countries from Sakarya in 4 months
Sakarya, which accounts for 18.1% of Turkey's automotive exports, made exports worth $1.882 billion to 137 countries and 10 free zones in the January-April period.
Ranked 7th in exports after Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Izmir, Ankara, and Gaziantep, Sakarya made exports worth $1,882,096,000 to 137 countries and 10 free zones in the January-April period.
Increasing its foreign sales by 5.8% compared to the same period last year, Sakarya's exports were dominated by automotive sector with 87.7%.
According to the Automotive Industry Association data, out of 492,471 vehicles produced in the first 4 months in Turkey, 338,441 were exported.
With an 18.1% share in the export pie, Sakarya produced 85,991 vehicles in the January-April period, of which 61,581, equivalent to 71.6%, were sent abroad. In other words, Sakarya, which exports 7 out of every 10 vehicles it produces, contributed $1,652,121,000 to the national economy.
Toyota maintained its leadership in production and exports
Hosting manufacturers such as Toyota, Otokar, and TürkTraktör, Sakarya produced 85,991 vehicles in the January-April period, including 67,760 automobiles, 707 minibusses, 537 buses, 279 light trucks, and 16,708 tractors. Thus, 711 vehicles were taken off the assembly line daily in the city.
During this period, Toyota led in production and exports, followed by TürkTraktör and Otokar.
Producing Corolla, Toyota C-HR, and the new generation Corolla Hybrid models at its factory in Arifiye district, Toyota exported 55,283 out of the 67,760 passenger cars it produced.
While Otokar exported 638 out of the 1,523 vehicles it produced, TürkTraktör sold 5,660 out of the 16,708 tractors it produced abroad, accounting for 33.8%.
